City Hall Closed to the Public

The City of Flat Rock is taking measures to protect the public and our staff in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The health and safety of our citizens and staff are of utmost importance. As a result, the Flat Rock City Hall and the Flat Rock Library will be closed to the public beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 and will reopen to the public on Monday, April 13, 2020. The Flat Rock Community Center is also closed, effective today, March 13, 2020 and will reopen on April 13, 2020.

We remain committed to the governance processes that enables us to serve our community with vital city operations and services. Our staff will continue to work from City Hall remotely and will be available via e-mail and phone. A list of our staff directory is available below. Public counter services will not be available, but city operations will continue. Please utilize our brown drop box next to the flagpole in the City Hall parking lot for correspondences, permits, water bills, tax bills, animal license tags, etc.

We have a regularly scheduled City Council Meeting on Monday, March 16, 2020 where further decisions will take place regarding our commission meetings. We will ask the City Council to help decide if these meetings should be rescheduled or convened remotely through April 13, 2020. Our City Council meetings are open to the public, but this is also a time of social distancing and therefore, if possible, we ask that you watch our City Council Meeting from home. Should you have questions or comments that you would like sent to the Mayor and City Council, please email Meaghan Bachman, City Clerk at

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we navigate through this constantly changing environment and take these necessary steps to reduce the spread of illness. These decisions were made after a great deal of consideration. If you have questions, please contact Flat Rock City Hall at 734-782-2455.
